Just a few odds and ends to catch up on. First off, I want to post about a give away that one of my fellow Navy wives is doing. Please go visit her at Lovely Yellow Ribbons ... the post is a few posts down for the Christmas give away. She does wonderful artwork.
Also, I want to thank Jen for tagging me. I haven't forgotten about it, but I think I will have to do the 6 (or 5) random facts about me another time.
The last is a thank you for the award given to me by Margie ... she passed on the Kick A** Blogger Award. Unfortunately I will not be able to pass it on this time.
Thank you for taking the time to visit me. I continue to be busy ... though we definitely get into Groundhog Day (each day can be very similar). I am finishing up my Thanksgiving squares and trying to decide what to do for my Christmas exchange. Thanks again to everyone that has left me a note and those that have thought of me while I'm gone.
Happy Stitching!

Dani,
Thanks for stopping by my blog during your busy underway time. I enjoyed reading your last few posts. I can definitely relate on several fronts, such as...
- Appreciation for seeing foreign ports that you might not have seen had it not been for the Navy. That's one of the best parts about being in the Navy is seeing the world and learning about other countries and cultures. In the nicer countries, you get to see marvelous and famous works of art and architecture. In the less-fortunate ports, it gives you an appreciation for the freedoms we enjoy in America.
- Enjoying the stars from the middle of the ocean with no city lights nearby. I especially liked being the first OOD to spot the Southern Cross after we crossed the equator heading to Australia.
Another favorite of mine is when you have dolphins riding your bow wave with a lot of bioluminescence. They look like glowing blue ghosts gracefully swirling and streaking through the water back and forth across your bow and leaving a glowing trail behind them.
I'm impressed and jealous you can blog while you're at sea though. Us bubbleheads don't have the luxury of internet access at sea.
Have a safe deployment!
Dani, Can you access your AOL email at sea? Seems like most Navy computer systems block access to webmail. I wanted to send you an email but wasn't sure if you'd get it while you were on deployment.
Dani!
You won! Email me whenever you have a chance. We'll talk crests.
Yay!
